Here you get to see cultures still with old ways with the undertones of religion about the outsiders. India is more than just a portrait picture of someone. India at least is an illustrative visual of how people interact between themselves in towns off the map, where as Television projects a cosmetic illusion of vast class differences. Yes journalism is alive and well in the streets of Mumbai right next to one of the roughest neighborhood Dharavi. This place is known for enter a photographer and leave without your camera. One of the photographers in the group learning to shoot street with a less conspicuous camera tiny camera successfully  gets her shot. I was pleased with the gourds conversion from shooting portrait style images to real hard core life images which revealed the thoughts of the social environment in a humanistic way in Mumbai.  :))))  Man with these new wiz bang little cameras you really get to see the soul of man kind. In Varanasi, It's about three things. Spirituality,  Growing up fast, and making money. INdia is a super power. They test atomic bombs and ruin their holy land, while the uncontrollable hustle to stay above the poverty line. Only 50 cents or less than one half a euro . Wow we we all lowered the poverty line.  These guys are sharp. They don't have a college degree, but they are at the top of their game.   while you struggle in a cubical wishing you could be the CEO and far from mastering your own life. You finally take a vacation, they spot you and own you. In reality inter world you are fresh  vegetable just off the bout.

Across the tracks behind him is Dharavi. Its a rough slum, booming with small business and tiny living quarters. If you can survive then its on step forward for man kind.  The tracks separate  the neighborhood . To my back is another class baseline. He is at that threshold. Which way he goes depends on how much he makes just by sitting there. If he makes 50 Rupees, you can consider hime one of the lucky ones just above the poverty line in Mumbai India. Meditation Man
A street vender makes baskets just off the side walk in Dharavasi. Where you are allowed to conduct your business depends on how much you can pay the crime boss. Success Comes with Skills

A weight scale is the most ridicules machinery Victoria Train Station in Mumbai India. It is apart of life , The weight scale  amuses a few that have a spare rupee to see their weight and watch the lights  dance behind the glass while the  shirley bit on the right spins around as if to come alive. A major avenue in the old section of Dharavi  Slums. I found this to be an important image. With narrow avenues to  navigate, it became clear to me that you quickly develop an aggressive attitude to survive amongst men. The last third of this main passage carries the waste water with an unforgettable fragrance  which permeates the inner guts of the slum. A man approaches me, It became clear to me one of us had to move out the way. The joist was on. In the end to pass me he had to do balance act on the small pipe and support his weight with the palm of his hand on the wall to pass around me. He saved face as all watched by not going in the water. I sent out a powerful statement that I'm going to be  intimidated. I love exploring  in  confrontative locations. The trains have come and left, the work force has filed in on time and never late. Replacement  within a population of eighteen millions too easy to replace. After all the middle class working force of India Is larger the the pollution of the United Staes of America. LIke any place  there is always a chink in one's dream and that one no longer fits in the work force and discovers there is no alternative, no interview, no income and that reality sinks in at the end into the world of unemployment. The day can have bad days that become chronic, It's them you pray things get better. You continue your dream even while being beaten and harassed at work while living in fear of unemployment when it is too stressful to stand proud. Your workers alienate you, say little to you in public and you see them join a stronger group you once was apart of. Corporations care little about workers, and in the high pressure of the middle class work force you must be production , or see your dreams slipping away before the end of a work day while being escorted out by security with a card boar box of just a few things that made your cubical home way from home in a city with a population of eighteen million.
